HOSTELS /ACCOMMODATION BOOKING AND PAYMENT INSTRUCTIONS.

Each student is expected to meet their accommodation and food expenses during the period of study. The University provides secure and comfortable accommodation on a first-come first-served basis. The portal for hostel booking will be opened starting 14Th July, 2025. For you to access the guidelines for hostel booking, categories and different charges please visit here. To successfully book the hostel room and space please click here, enter registration number and type the word student (lower case) as the password in the spaces provided to login. Select Mpesa option only to complete the payment. For further guidance contact the in-charge accommodation through 0202361086 or email nyumba@chuka.ac.ke. 

Hostel booking requirements and process  

Our hostels have limited spaces and booking is done online on a first-come, first-served basis. The student will be required to login to the student portal (https://portal.chuka.ac.ke ) by entering their registration number and password in the spaces provided. The default password is the word student (lower case). Students are expected to click on hostel booking on the portal dashboard and follow the prompts to complete the hostel booking process. After selecting the room space, the student is expected to select only the Mpesa option on the portal to make payment.
Hostel booking will be for one semester, therefore, only those students who will meet the requirements mentioned above will be accommodated. Hostels’ clearance will be done at the end of every semester.
All first-year students, both government and privately sponsored and continuing students are eligible to book the rooms.
The hostels have been priced in a manner that meets the different needs of our students.

The services rendered here are top-notch and we endeavor to maintain the same service standard in order to attract and retain our clients. Our hostels are located within our campuses in a serene environment conducive for learning and residence. This has been made possible by the University management which has put in place adequate resources such as staff and ultra-modern infrastructure that enhances safety, convenience and comfort to residents.

The amenities include but are not limited to well-maintained lifts, WIFI, kitchenettes with lockable cabinets, hot water shower, in-room TV antenna, Smart TVs, DSTV, and other indoor recreational facilities like pool tables, table tennis, and darts for entertainment and sports. We give priority to students with special needs/ persons living with disabilities in hostel booking.
