We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional services and are committed to consistently upholding these high standards to both attract and retain our residents. Our hostels are strategically located within the University, offering a serene and conducive environment for both learning and comfortable living. This has been made possible through the University Management’s dedicated investment in adequate staffing and state-of-the-art infrastructure, ensuring enhanced safety, convenience, and overall comfort for all residents.

Hostels /Accommodation Booking and Payment Instructions

Students are responsible for meeting their own accommodation and subsistence/feeding expenses throughout their period of study. The University offers secure, well-maintained and comfortable hostel facilities, allocated on a first-come, first serve basis.
The online booking portal will open on 13th July 2026. To secure a room, please access the booking link here, log in using your registration number and the password “student” (in lower case), and follow the prompts provided.
Kindly note that once a room has been selected, payment must be completed via the M-pesa option on the same page within 30 minutes. Failure to do so will result in the room automatically reverting to vacant and becoming available for booking by other students.

Hostel Booking Requirements and Process

Hostel accommodation is limited and allocated strictly on a first-come, first-served basis through the online booking system. Students are therefore encouraged to complete the process promptly to secure a room.
To make a booking, students should log in to the student portal via https://portal.chuka.ac.ke using their registration number and password. The default password is student (in lowercase). Upon successful login, navigate to the dashboard, select the Hostel Booking option, and follow the step-by-step prompts provided.
After selecting a preferred room, students must proceed to payment immediately by choosing the M-Pesa option on the portal. Payment must be completed within the stipulated time to confirm the reservation.
Hostel allocation is done on a per-semester basis. Students may book accommodation for subsequent semesters, subject to meeting all booking requirements and availability of space. Clearance of hostels will be conducted at the end of each semester, and all residents are expected to comply with the clearance procedures.
Accommodation is available to all eligible students, including first-year (both government-sponsored and privately sponsored) as well as continuing students. The hostel rates are structured to cater to the diverse needs and preferences of our student population.
